2. Enzymes
What are enzymes?
When we are born, our bodies have a limited amount of enzyme energy to take us through life. There are many different types of enzymes each that help us breathe, walk, talk, and move. As we age, our enzyme amount is depleted.
We can replenish this enzyme supply through the food we eat. When we consume raw food, it comes with its own enzymes necessary for digestion. When we heat food above 112 degrees, the food's enzymes are destroyed and the necessary digestion comes from our body enzyme supply that is actually intended for some other bodily function - not digestion. These "borrowed" enzymes will do the job the best they can, but as this happens, we begin to use up our limited enzyme reserves and it is harder for our bodies to digest the foods. Undigested food is slowly stored in our bodies as toxins, which leads to shortened lifespan, disease, illness, and lower resistance to stress.
